Thrift shops are great places to find some great deals on gently used clothing, if you’re willing to dig through the piles of yuck to find it. The Glen Cote Thrift Shop at 372 Hazel Avenue in Glencoe, Illinois doesn’t have a lot of yuck. In fact, its inventory wasn’t that big.
I visited the shop as they were beginning their 75-85% off sale, and there wasn’t that much on the racks. I did find a nice pair of shorts that was originally $5.00, marked down to $1.25. Even if they disintegrate in the laundry, it is still a great price. There were nice formal dresses and a few household items that were good deals for someone putting together their first apartment.
I’m planning on checking back at the Glen Cote Thrift Shop once their summer clearance is over. Hopefully there will be more items to choose from. In the meantime, it might be worth checking out if you have time to burn, and need some cheap summer duds.
