I went to Dominick’s today, even though it’s far from our house, and every road that leads to it was under construction. I was hoping to score some good deals there after seeing these coupons in the Dominick’s Sunday insert:

We just moved, and we were in need of some basic cleaning supplies. The best deal I found was:

I also bought some organic canned beans – 10/$10.
Ravenswood wine (my fave!) was on sale for $8.97. I’m contemplating buying six bottles of it at once because then we’d get a 10% discount. We’ve been getting pretty good deals on wine at Jewel, however, so I might hold out for a while. They offer the 10% discount at Jewel too.
I always thought that Dominick’s was more expensive, but I was hoping to be proven wrong. I also wanted to use the $5/$50 coupon from the Entertainment book! However, this trip just affirmed for us that Jewel has the better deals. And, considering it’s less than a mile from our house, I think we’ll stick with it…unless Dominick’s has any good coupons for next week.

I think Dominck’s/Safeway targets more high-end consumers, so their prices tend to be a bit higher. Never really realized this until recently, though… Dominick’s is only a mile from my house – a bit closer than Jewel and a more pleasant shopping experience. I only tend to shop the deals there, anyway — and I think this week is an off week. I didn’t see any reason to go!
Did head back to jewel for a LARGE purchase to get three more cans of Planter’s cashews and match some other coupon+promo deals. Itching to make a quick run on my way back home to grab another bag of Stacy’s pita chips (LOVE THEM!) and some Sabra hummus and to take advantage of that free Lysol deal you mentioned!
