Mmmm…beer.
My Jewel has these nifty beer tags that offer a $10 mail-in rebate when you buy four six packs of Budweiser brands beer. This includes all kinds of cool beer like Bass, Leffe, etc. And it includes the regular Bud stuff.

If you’ve stepped into a Whole Paycheck lately, you’ve probably noticed that health food stores sometimes charge a premium for organic or healthy foods. Many times, you can find the same items at your local grocery for much less.
Click here to read an article on the Twenty Healthiest Foods for Under a Dollar. Coffee, spinach, oats, pasta and garbanzos were all on the list, which made me very happy. Especially about the coffee.

Cheerios is giving away six $1 off coupons to those who sign up here. (Thanks to Money Saving Mom for posting this)
These coupons might go nicely with any upcoming General Mills sales. And almost everyone likes Cheerios. They’re appealing to multiple generations…like the Beastie Boys!

I went to the Deerfield (Lake-Cook and Waukegan) Jewel today looking for fortune cookies (don’t ask!), and instead, I found a bunch of great garden and cleaning items on clearance. Here’s what I got:
Microfiber Quickie Mop – $6.59 (the replacement microfiber sheets cost more at $6.99
Two Quickie Toilet Bowl Brush Caddies – $3.83 each
One Quickie Basic Toilet Brush – $1.00
Two lawn sprinklers – $3.49 each (!)
Quickie Veggie Brush – $1.00
A Garden Cultivator and Trowel – $2.49 each
Two huge clay pots – $1.49 each (they had smaller sizes that were cheaper too)
Two saucers for the pots – $0.99 each
We just moved into our house from a condo, where we didn’t need any outdoor supplies at all, so this clearance sale was really a nice surprise!
Let us know if you find any good deals at your Jewel!

Crystal at Moneysavingmom just posted her Financial Checkup for July. We just made our first mortgage payment this month, so we’ve been trying to “feel out” our new budget. There are so many expenses that go along with moving into a new home that we didn’t forsee. I think we’re doing all right, but we do need to make a more structured budget in the future. Without knowing what our utility bills will be, etc., that’s been kind of difficult. So, definitely, a goal for August would be to take an honest look at our expenses and see if we can do anything to improve.

If you got a Dominick’s ad in the mail today, there are a few good deals.
SUMMER SAVINGS MARATHON
If you purchase a certain number of participating items in a single transaction using your Fresh Values Card (or Fresh Ripoff Card, as I like to call it), you can earn Reward Coupons. The catch is, you have to buy items that have participating tags on them. Here’s the breakdown on the Reward Coupons:
Buy 9-14 items – Get a $5 Reward Coupon
Buy 15-24 items – Get a $10 Reward Coupon
Buy more than 25 items – Get a $20 Reward Coupon
Heck, that’s a lot of items! The participating items listed in the ad are:
Minute Maid Orange Juice – 2/$6
Vitaminwater 12-pack – $10.99
Pepsi 12-packs – 3/$10
Scoop Away Cat Litter – $10.99
Febreze Fabric Refresher – $4.99 (there’s a BOGO coupon from the paper that might make this a better deal)
Hefty Trash Bags 55-85 ct. – $10.99
Gatorade 8-packs – 2/$10 – Buy 4 8-packs, get the 5th FREE
There are a few more items that would qualify for the deal too, but honestly, they’re not very good deals.
10/$10 Deals
Nectarines (10 lbs./$10)
Safeway Ice Cream Cups
Safeway Pudding Cups
SUPER COUPONS
6-packs of 24 oz. bottles of Coke – 2/$3

Check out this post over at Economic Endeavours about CVS shopping scenarios (click here). A lot of the scenarios use $/$$ coupons that are expired, and I’m sure my CVS will probably frown upon that. Regardless, there are still some really good ideas. I’d really like to get some new Olay Regenerist cream this week since they generate $10 ECBs if you buy $20 worth of Olay product. I’ve got Olay coupons saved up as well as a CVS coupon for facial moisturizers.
Happy CVS Shop Planning!
